Prayer

Telephone prayer chain

The Telephone Prayer Chain is a very effective method of passing on specific prayer requests to a large number of people in a short space of time. We have 3 prayer chain groups within the fellowship. Prayer requests are passed initially to the chain co-ordinator who passes the request on to the first person in each group. These members in turn pass the request to the next person in their group and so on until the request has reached everyone in the chain.

Missions Support

Before He left this earth and ascended to heaven, Jesus Christ instructed His followers to make disciples of all nations:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:19-20)

International Baptist Church (IBC) supports numerous missionaries, both within the UK and abroad. Approximately 65% of IBC’s missions giving goes to support missionaries who are working in the “10/40 Window.” The 10/40 Window describes that area of the world with latitudes between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator covering North Africa, the Middle East and Asia. People living in this region have some of the greatest physical and spiritual needs of anyone in the world. Most of the people in this area of the world have never heard (not even once!) the good news that God loves them and sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for their sins. Most governments in the 10/40 Window are hostile to the advance of Christianity in their countries.

An IBC Missions committee meets regularly to consider and pray about support of new missionaries as well as review support levels of existing missionaries. Our “Adopt-A-Missionary” program assigns individuals to contact missionaries we support in order that we might know them better and pray for them more effectively.

Music Ministry

The music ministry at IBC strives to support and enhance the overall worship experience.  It includes a balanced presentation of traditional hymns and contemorary praise songs in an attempt to provide "something for everyone".

• Traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs
• There is a Praise group open to all, which leads the congregation in praise songs each Sunday morning.
• During the evening service there is a mix of hymns and praise songs.
• The children sing age appropriate songs during their Children's and Junior Church time.

While there is no full time choir program at present, volunteers come together at Christmas and Easter for several weeks to prepare and present special music programs appropriate to the season.

Hospitality & Fellowship

The hospitality & fellowship ministry exists to provide practical help where needed and to promote and foster fellowship within our congregation.

IBC offers a meals’ ministry for families during difficult times and various fellowship activities are organised on a regular basis. Fellowship activities serve as an avenue for welcoming new members and non-Christians into a Christian environment, and it provides the opportunity to serve and use our gifts creatively
